Sales Policy
UK orders
We endeavour to post orders within three working days of order using Royal Mail Special Delivery, which should arrive the day after dispatch. A £10 delivery fee is payable by the customer.
International orders
We endeavour to post orders within three working days of order using the tracked service from Royal Mail International. A £16 delivery fee is payable by the customer if the piece(s) is delivered to Ireland, and a £20 delivery fee is payable by the customer for all other international locations.
Insurance
All purchases from Percy & Gold are insured with our carrier service, Royal Mail, and/ or Secursus to provide our wonderful customers with peace of mind.
Customs, duties and tariffs
International orders may be subject import duties and fees and they are the responsibility of the customer; please check local regulations by accessing this tool: https://www.simplyduty.com/
Orders placed by customers in America will see a 10% “sales tax” added to your cart at checkout. This is the tariff on goods imported from the UK to the USA. Taking tariff payments in advance is essential when shipping with Royal Mail and also means we can post your piece(s) ‘Delivery Duty Paid’ (DDP) - this ensures clarity of pricing and minimises the risk of parcels getting delayed or stuck in customs.
Unfortunately, we cannot influence delays that may be caused by customs in the country of delivery and parcels refused or returned due to unpaid customs or tariffs will not be refunded.
Layaway Policy
Sometimes you find the perfect piece of jewellery at an imperfect time for the bank balance! Layaway is a monthly payment plan, allowing you to split the cost of a piece across a longer time period.
Layaway is available strictly at our discretion and on pieces that have listed on the site for more than 48 hours. Generally, pieces must be +£600 to be considered for a layaway payment plan. There are no additional fees or interest rates associated to our Layaway terms. If you are interested in coordinating a plan, please complete our contact form and we will respond to you via email, or message us on Instagram. All Layaway policies come with a contract that confirms the terms and includes the payment schedule for your peace of mind.
Generally, our layaway term is for a period of three calendar months, with three equal payments of 33.33% until your piece is paid in full. If appliable, tariffs/ custom fees are applicable as DDP (see above) then we will also add it to the payment plan. The shipping fee will be added to your final monthly instalment and we will contact you to coordinate shipping once the final payment has been paid.
Pieces priced at £1,500 and above may be legible for a slightly extended layaway term. Please message us via the contact form for more details.
Late or missed payments may result in the layaway plan being cancelled, however will be given notice if their account is in arrears before this happens. If any agreed payment is made more than seven days late, or customers cease to communicate, it will result in the layaway agreement being cancelled and payments made to date will be returned, minus 20% of the cost of the piece, which l is considered as a non-refundable deposit that will be retained as as administration and restocking fee.
Customers can terminate their layaway plan prior to the final payment should they change their mind. Payments made to date will be returned to them minus a 20% administration as restocking fee.
Example of how the two classes detailed above are implemented: A piece costs £600 and the first two payments have been made totalling £400. The customer then terminates the agreement/ fails to communicate/ misses a payment by more than seven days. We will return £280 to the customer and retain £120 (20% of the cost price) as an administration and restocking charge.
Once the piece has been paid in full, it is considered a final sale and is not eligible for a refund of exchange of any form. If you are in any doubt, please coordinate a virtual viewing prior to coordinating a layaway payment plan. Thank you.
